For a truly Australian Outback experience,
consider a visit to Myella Farmstay, and enjoy the
real Queensland. The
farmstay is very activity based, however you
can do as much or as little as you like. You can get
involved or relax. Guests enjoy the informal schedule
and the fact that they are staying on a real farm.
Myella offers Australian
Farmstay in Queensland - authentic
and memorable.

Myella Farmstay is located a mere one and a half hours
drive west of Rockhampton, the capital of the Central
Queensland region. Yet you will feel far away from
the real world - you may find it hard to go back to
the hustle and bustle of city life! Enjoy real Queensland
Outback hospitality and try horseback riding - see
sunsets where the colours are beyond imagination and
breathe in the atmosphere of the Aussie bush. The horse
riding tours are one of the greatest assets, and have
become a specialized activity that is somewhat unique
compared to other trail riding tours. Ride through
the wide-open fields of Myella on horses that are loved
and cared for. If you are a beginner or an experienced
rider there will be a horse to suit you. We ride daily
for a minimum of 2hrs. Experienced riders are impressed
with the quality of the horses offered. You have the
chance to ride freely over the landscape and once a
week we move cattle.
Discover the beauty of the bush while you ride along
the marked tracks. Motorbike lessons are offered daily
and a farm tour is offered during each farm stay. The
farm tour is guided in the 4WD tray-back or following
on the motorbikes. The farm tour offers the opportunity
to discus farming issues and a family member will share
knowledge about the farm and nature. Enjoy the scenic
views of the farm in a style that is both educational
and relaxed.
Guests enjoy the sunny weather, watching the sunset
and learning about the stars. Learn to crack a whip,
throw a lasso and divine for water. The family raise
and release orphaned kangaroos. Help bottle feed the
kangaroo or the calves. See a cattle auction Monday
morning at the largest sale yards in Australia.
Enjoy country hospitality and share home cooked meals
with the family in a relaxing outdoor dining area.
Make a cup of tea and cook your toast on the campfire!
The basic breakfast menu consists of tea/coffee and
toast made on the fire, fruit, a variety of cereals.
Both lunch and dinner are served as a buffet. Lunch
is cold meat, salads, pasta or soup or a hot dish.
Olive cooks on the stove in the kitchen or outside
on the campfire. Dinner consists of beef and vegetables,
with great conversation and a lot of laughter. Home
cooked biscuits at smoko add a special touch.
The homestead features polished timber floors. There
is a central living area, a large shady verandah, TV,
telephone, video library, laundry, email and swimming
pool. There are twins, doubles and rooms for three
and there are no dormitories or bunk beds.
On occasions increased numbers are accommodated in
camper-vans, tents and swags. Sometimes the swags are
used for camping out under the stars.
You will leave stiff, sore and dirty, but happy.
We look forward to seeing you, down on the farm.
